Third Eye K9 Bruce
Third Eye K9 believes out of all the dog's natural attributes building the dog's nimbleness both mentally and physically is one of the most important. Agility work not only builds the dog's confidence in itself and the handler, but builds handler communication skills as well.
For a human or dog to control its body in an efficient and effective way one must use a combination of balance, coordination, speed, reflexes, strength and endurance. One of Third Eye K9's main objectives is to improve agility in the working dog. We have found the best way to achieve this goal is by isolating the above component parts of agility and integrating them into reality based drills. We accomplish this with a comprehensive agility program, utilizing various obstacle courses both natural and man made. Our agility courses aren't like ones found at most "agility clubs" or "sport based clubs", which have no basis in reality, rather are specially designed to encourage a dog and handler to perform specific tasks simultaneously. Physically speaking our K9's move like professional athletes with the ability to decelerate, full stop, change direction and accelerate instantaneously, no matter the obstacle, environment or terrain.
As critical as physical agility is, mental agility is even more important. The ability to think fast and creatively under stress should not be underestimated. Third Eye K9's can anticipate and adapt in constantly changing situations. They can do this while filtering out all irrelevant distractions. Arguably, any dog can inherently be inspired with intellectual curiosity to problem solve. We believe it is primarily determined by genetics. Utilizing our dog's genetics and our agility/obstacle courses, we build dogs with the ability to deal with the unexpected. The inability to think under stress is unacceptable at Third Eye K9. Third Eye K9's have situational awareness that is unparalleled in the working dog industry. Through our training and breeding programs our dogs are able to assess and regulate information occurring, respond appropriately, all under very high levels of stress.
